In 1993, Daniel and Sue Pattingale established the Kangaroo
Island Olive Oil Company to grow olives at Stokes Bay on
the north coast of KI. The olives are grown without the
use of chemical pesticides or fertilisers, and thrive in
the mild coastal climate, producing fresh fruity extra virgin
olive oil. The oil is extracted within 24 hours on the property
by 2-phase eco-centrifugation, and no heating is used during
this process.
Kangaroo Island WILD is a fresh, fruity
oil produced from feral olives growing only on Kangaroo
Island. Mild on the palate and deliciously fruity, balanced
with a pleasant pungency and bitterness. Excellent by itself
on crusty bread or your favourite salad, hot pasta or vegetables.
Kangaroo Island NORTH COAST is a fruity,
single variety oil from our grove at Stokes Bay. Full of
the flavour of olives, a full bodied oil displaying all
the characteristics of great olive oil. A culinary essential
for your kitchen, this oil will go with anything.
These oils are available for retail in 250ml and 500ml
bottles, and for Food Service in 4 litre cans.
Good Food Kangaroo Island is an industry group
formed to encourage and support value adding producers and
protect the integrity of the Island’s produce. Regional
food groups have been established throughout South Australia
and are actively working with producers to establish regional
branding and long term relationships with major retailers
seeking access to high quality, branded products.
