Winner of the 2008 SA Great, award for Innovation, Kangaroo
Island Spirits is doing its part in providing a unique and
quality tasting experience for food lovers visiting the
island. Partners Jon and Sarah Lark have created South Australia’s
first boutique distillery on their property at Cygnet River.
KiS is producing a range of high quality liqueurs and spirits
using local and native ingredients such as wild fennel and
Ligurian honey.
Newly released is a Vintage Gin using native Juniper and
a triple distilled Vodka and Samphire Vodka. The versatility
of these products is limited only by the imagination. Maggie
Beer and Simon Bryant found the anisette the perfect addition
to a Greek prawn dish and a pear and fennel relish. Locals
create desserts with the liqueurs and the oyster shooters
are always a huge hit.
Sarah and Jon invite businesses that would like to use
their products to book a tastings and
information session at their cellar door to discuss and
even experiment with their products.
KIS produce their liqueurs – Limoncello,
Strawberry & Vanilla, Lime and Ginger, Zenzerino,
Honey & Walnut, Aniseed in 100mls, 375mls and 750mls.
A 700ml Gin, a 375ml and 750ml Samphire Vodka and
a 375ml and 750ml Vodka.
Good Food Kangaroo Island is an industry group
formed to encourage and support value adding producers and
protect the integrity of the Island’s produce. Regional
food groups have been established throughout South Australia
and are actively working with producers to establish regional
branding and long term relationships with major retailers
seeking access to high quality, branded products.
